As part of its activities on 6 and 7 December 2019 in Stockholm, Sweden organized a meeting of the IRU Cabinet, as well as a part of the ERTF Board and the women's organization Phenalipe. The promoter and organizer of this event was the Head of the IRU Committees and the Vice President of the IRU Rosita Gronfors
.
For the third time, Rosita Gronfors proved to be a responsible host and organizer, and the whole organization flowed in an impeccable atmosphere.
The meeting of these organizations was attended by the President of the IRU Zoran Dimov, Rosita Gronfors - Head of the IRU Committees, Stefan Kuzhicov - VD President of the IRU Parliament, Gregor Julson - Head of the IRU Romano Cris, Ramush Muarem – Gen. Secretar of the IRU Zvonko Jasarevic - IRU Chris, Marja Eronen - Advisor to the IRU Cabinet. Abigal Hocking and James Wragg - from the Democratic Transition Office, Lars Demeter, Head of the IRU Religious Commission and Tore Jarl Bielenberg, IRU delegate from Norway.
Also representatives from ERTF President Miranda Vuolasantra, and ERTF representatives as well as the women's lobby from Phenalipe, Christina Raducanu, Martina Salinger, Angelina Dimitrie Taikon, as well as coordinators Upro Vulosranta and Fred Taikon.
At the same time, the event was attended by journalists Bajram Sevrdjan, Isein Bajram and Erhan Demir and Swedish representatives from Radio Romano.
The event was moderated by Stefan Kuzhicov. On the first day 06.12.2019 - Friday after the arrival of the guests and participants, were made coordination and defining the topics that will be discussed and the IRU Cabinet meeting held in the afternoon,
On the second day of 07.12.2019 - Saturday, the meeting to start at 09:00 with the registration of guests, is immediately after the topics discussed.
The introductory presentation was made by the Head of the IRU Committees and the Vice President of the IRU - Rosita Gronfors, who gave her opinion on the cooperation between the IRU and the ERTF and the development of the IRU Women's Lobby. He emphasized the role of the women's lobby and the importance of the Roma woman in the activities and actions. From this point of view, the importance of full membership and activity of having a wife in the IRU Roma Chris was emphasized.
From this point of view was also discussed by the IRU President Zoran Dimov and the initiative where needed in the IRU Roma Cris also need to strengthen the women's lobby, more equal participation of a female member in the IRU Roma Cris, a modality that will find a practical implementation a new moment in the development of the women's lobby.
From that point of view, the Roma IRU chief Cris Gregor Julson gave his full support to the initiative.
In the continuation of the discussions, the President of the IRU Zoran Dimov mentioned in his report the activities so far, but also emphasized the moment of the decision to establish the Roma Ombudsman - Contact Point and its successful implementation.
But one of the highlights was the opening of the IRU Office within the UN in Geneva where the Roma Ombudsman will also be located. Now besides Vienna, there is a UN office in Geneva.
Following is Miranda Vuolasranta from ERTF on the tasks and activities of Roma and Travelers and the cooperation that will strengthen the realization of IRU and ERTF. At the same time, he presented the priorities of the EU and its Commission as a unity for all in the period 2020 -2024.
Angelina Dimitar Taikon also addressed the importance of Roma children and their education as well as presenting modulation as to raise the moment to a higher level.
In the direction of women's activities and the importance of that element and a stronger lobby for the Roma woman, Christina Raducanu had her vision. She mentioned that it is necessary to undertake a more concrete plan and to raise this kind of cooperation to a higher level.
Abigal Hocking also had a presentation on the function of Democratic Transition and Electronic Voting before the audience. At the same time, via Skype, Grattan Puxon was also involved. It came to a conclusion, due to the manner of electronic voting and the complex process, to this way of voting it would be best to conduct a longer campaign to educate the electorate on the new method of voting. The IRU Congress for 4 years was highlighted as the optimal period.
One of the last points was the theme of the IRU Congress in 2020.
In conclusion from the discussions, the President of the IRU Zoran Dimov, for various reasons and most of all the financial condition of the IRU to hold the next IRU Congress in Skopje, Republic of Northern Macedonia in the last week of March, Friday the IRU Assembly, and also the IRU meeting and organizing a cultural event to be March 28-30, 2020.
For the time being, the term for holding the IRU Congress remains, and the activity of finding funding for its flawless organization!
