Finland: Het nationale Romabeleid van Finland (Rompo 3) voor de periode 2023–2030 is opgesteld.

It is based on the EU Roma strategic framework for equality, inclusion and participation. As an EU Member State, Finland is committed to the objectives of the strategic framework, and aims to promote the equality and inclusion of the Roma in different areas of life. The cross-cutting objectives of the National Roma Policy are equality, inclusion and participation, as well as the elimination of discrimination by tackling antigypsyism. These priorities will guide the mainstreaming of the Roma policy measures. The National Roma Policy also includes four sectoral sets of objectives related to education, employment, housing and health. It also contains measures to strengthen the social, linguistic and cultural rights of Roma people. Finland’s National Roma Policy was prepared in collaboration with different stakeholders, and the measures will be targeted correctly using the lifecycle model. In accordance with the guidelines of the European Commission, a report on the implementation of the National Roma Policy will be submitted to the Commission every two years. The Commission will monitor progress by making use of surveys carried out by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights and the feedback received from civil society. An indepth mid-term evaluation will be carried out of the EU’s current 10-year strategic framework at the EU level, and conducting a mid-term evaluation of Finland’s national strategic framework is also included in the National Roma Policy.

Serbia: 81 years since the breakthrough of the camp on February 12 in Nis

On February 12, 1942, 147 prisoners tried to escape to freedom, of which 105 escaped and 42 lost their lives. The city of Niš and many other organizations and individuals by laying wreaths at the February 12 Memorial Complex once again confirmed that the sacrifices made in the Second World War are not forgotten. Historical data show that the most who died in this war were about 6 million Jews, about 500 thousand Serbs and about 1.5 million Roma. Even today, after 81 years, we do not know the exact number of murdered members of the Roma community. Members of the LAG #Romanced program also laid a wreath in honor of the memory of all victims of World War II.

It's time! In order not to be forgotten in the future, look at the past, react – Now!

Considering the conditions in the Macedonian society in the past three decades, as well as its functioning, the question arises - On which path is our country? Undoubtedly, these aspirations are the path to the EU.

But there are countless obstacles and barricades on that road. But the question also arises - Where is the Roma community in this country in all this? The challenges are countless and not so naive, and the results are to be honest – not very promising.

That is why so far in the last three decades many initiatives have been proposed at the international and national level to improve the situation with the Roma community in the country.

In short, the results of more are overwhelming. There is some minimal progress in some social spheres, but not enough to establish the Roma community.

That's why from all this comes the initiative for Roma political dialogue as well as the Roma Platform Initiative.

Both the political dialogue and the platform will seek forms and ways for the common good, both for the state and for the Roma community in the state.

Only with common forces and a common goal is the way and formula for community progress.

That is why the initiators - the Network for Systematic and Permanent Solutions for the Integration of the Roma Community in the Republic of Macedonia, call on all those who think well of both the state and their community to join and give their views, views, expertise , opinions and experiences.

That initiative would be well thought out and done if the Roma political factor, as well as the Roma non-governmental sector, all Roma intellectuals, educated Roma, experienced Roma activists, and everyday Roma people would be included and involved in it as creators.

The Roma political dialogue as well as the Roma Platform Initiative are deeply confident that with active work and participation as well as divided roles, it would have an effect, both in political decisions at the state level and in the implementation and implementation of program plans and goals that are closely related to the Roma community. All together, without vanities and discredits, progress can be achieved.

Because we know that the Roma community at the current level has come precisely from those vanities and discredits. That way of acting only regresses and slows down the progress of the community in all fields.

Therefore, another call from the Network for Systematic and Permanent Solutions to all Roma political actors, the Roma non-governmental sector, all Roma intellectuals, educated Roma, experienced Roma activists, and people from Roma everyday life to be a part and actively participate in the implementation for the Roma political dialogue as well as the Roma Platform Initiative.

It's time! In order not to be forgotten in the future, look at the past, react – Now!

Django Reinhardt – Rom who conquered the world with guitar

Django Reinhardt was a Belgian guitar virtuoso and pioneer of chanson manouche music. He was born in 1910 in the city of Liberchies, Belgium, in the Roma family. He started playing the guitar in early childhood, and later joined the Parisian chanson manouche scene.

Reinhardt was a self-taught musician and developed a unique playing style that combined elements of classical, jazz and traditional Roma music. His virtuosity and original playing style made him one of the greatest guitar masters of all time.

In 1928, Reinhardt experienced a severe fire in which he lost the use of two fingers on his right hand, but managed to return to the guitar and continued playing with the help of new techniques. His popularity and influence only grew, and he became an indispensable part of the chanson manouche movement and one of the most important founders of modern jazz guitar.

Reinhardt collaborated with many notable musicians of his time, including Stéphane Grappelli, Duke Ellington and Louisa Armstrong. His music is still alive and appreciated all over the world, and many have called him the king of chanson manouche guitar. Reinhardt died in 1953, at the age of 43, but his influence and legacy have endured.
