Roma Beverly Hills in Romania

With high marble columns and pagoda-shaped roofs, houses built by wealthy Roma adorn many villages in Romania.

Widespread in one of the poorest EU member states, these buildings are estimated to have several thousand, often multi-storey buildings, as neighbors compete for higher.

Kostica Stanchu says:
“Roma are roaming all over Romania. When they see a beautiful house, they want to own it. Initially all castles had little towers, but were later replaced by more modern ones. "

Colorful decorations, as well as the US dollar sign or the logo of some German car brands, can be seen on some of the facades as a symbol of wealth.

Romanian architect Rudolf Graff says that, while often derided as "absolute kitsch," the style of "Roma palaces" should not be dismissed.

"Paradoxically it reflects a part of Romania's history, unlike the contemporary architecture implemented by the state itself," he says.
The roofs, especially with their fragments and skewed stairs reminiscent of Asian temples, are just a highlight of the typical architectural elements of the country.

Richard Gere: Mateo Salvini is a little Trump

According to US actor Richard Gere, Italian Interior Minister and right-wing leader Matteo Salvini is a "small Trump" who exploits people's fears to win votes.

- Your Home Secretary has the same mentality as President Trump. In fact, Salvini is a little Trump. It has the same obvious ignorance and radicalism, exploiting fear and hatred in people, "Gear told the Italian daily Corriere della Sera.

Gere, 69, clashed with Salvini two weeks ago over the humanitarian aid organization Open Arms, when Italy banned docking of hundreds of migrants. The actor visited that ship and brought food to the migrants, and Salvini called on him to "take people to Hollywood and take them to his villas".

"If your interior minister spends some time with these people, hearing their stories and family traumas, he will change his attitude," Gear said, adding that he would like to meet with Salvini because he is convinced he is not. as it is presented to the public.

- He has family, children, parents. But politics uses it as a means of boosting support. Life can be simple if you are sincere and speak from the heart - the actor emphasized.

Interesting wedding customs around the world!

It is a well-known fact that Roma wedding customs are interesting and full of folklore and tradition.

But there are also other interesting wedding customs around the world. Here are a few of them that may be accepted in the near future by bridesmaids.

In Estonia, the custom that the girl who catches the bride's bouquet next marries has changed to favor men. The groom is blindfolded and turned in a circle. The unmarried man on whose head the groom will put his hat next will be "caught".

In Japan there is a tradition of ritual drinking of nine cups of sake during the wedding ceremony.
The Italians cut the groom's tie and sell the pieces to finance their honeymoon.
The brides in Latvia are "kidnapped" and the groom has to pay a ransom (a song or a drink) to get it back.
At a Finnish wedding, the groom's mother holds a headdress when the young men dance the first dance. The number of pieces that will break the cinder is the number of children the couple will have.
In Germany, newlyweds symbolically start living together by cutting a tree. In this country it is a tradition that adolescents adhere to as if in life all the difficult tasks would be met with success.
In the Netherlands, youngsters plant lilies in the yard around their home as a symbol of renewing their happiness and love with each new season.
Part of Sudan's traditional wedding involves the burning of seven broom sticks by the main bridesmaid symbolizing the rejection of bad habits before marriage begins.
