The network for systemic and lasting solutions for the Roma community responds to the way and the amount of funds spent on the Roma community and are part of the Northern Macedonia Budget for Implementation of Roma Strategy 2020 - 2023. They warn that before bringing And the budget for 2023 should really take care of true planning and channeling of those funds, as well as for more funds in the realization of the Roma strategy. In one of those "modest" reports by several relevant Ministries, and following a request by the MP Ljatifa Šikovska, it was stated that in 2020, the Government planned to realize 79.8 million denars for the implementation of the Roma Strategy. through program 11 for the support of the Strategy for later with Rebalancing for 2020, that budget has been reduced by 52.5 million denars. In 2021, 59.2 were first awarded and with the rebalance reduced to 53.9, in 2021 to jump to 63.2 but with a rebalance reduced to 62.6 million denars. Now for 2023 it is proposed with 59.5, and how much it will be is a question. And the state is also aware that even the proposed funds are insufficient to solve Roma problems in the places where they live, they regularly diminishes, and thus indirectly, the problems of solving the most pressing problems facing the Roma community are indirectly deposited. An example is the Ministry of Transport and Communications. According to their 2020 analysis, 40 million denars were initially planned but with the rebalance they reached 20 million denars. It is similar in 2021, 2022 and taught by previous experiences and for 2023 the proposal is 20 million denars. The network for systematic permanent solutions wonders whether with approximately 300,000 euros in 2023 is it possible to resolve infrastructure deficiencies in the country's Rosmas? If one of the state's priorities is to help the economically and socially vulnerable Roma by assigning social housing to Roma members, building infrastructure, roads, water supply, etc., what can be achieved with 300,000 euros? To assign 2-3 social apartments and to asphalt 2 kilometers of street in a Roma settlement and so on! In this way the problems are not resolved, thus only deepening the social difference of the Roma community in the Republic of Northern Macedonia.
The analysis will continue in the coming days.
