The decision on the future of Adolf Hitler's hometown in the Austrian city of Braunau, after years of litigation has finally been made - the Austrian police will move into it.
The building was taken over by the Austrian state in August, and soon a competition for a new look at the Nazi leader's birth house will be announced. As stated, Hitler's house will house the municipal police command and Braunau police station.
According to the Austrian authorities, this could finally be the so-called "Nazi tourism" in which people arrive to visit the house where the former leader of the Third Reich lived.
Namely, the Nazis from all over Europe were arriving in Braunau to visit Hitler's home, so the Austrian authorities believe that now that the police have moved into the house, the Nazis will not arrive to worship at that building.
