The young singer Zejna was one of the participants in this year's Eurosong as a representative of Serbia, and her composition, which is a blend of traditional and urban sound, was also in the running for the winner of PZE.
Before the finale of the festival, Zayna took to Twitter and revealed what kind of criticism she is facing these days.
"Because of the hate I get every day (not for the performance, criticism is totally ok). "After I had to change primary school in the first grade because the teacher and my friends discriminated against me because of my ethnicity, it's hard that something badly written can hurt me," Zejna wrote and added.
"It is just one of the episodes that Roma go through almost every day. For decades, even longer. And we must no longer be silent about it. If you don't mentally detach from everything, you've succeeded. Think about it the next time you want to write: gypsy, the gypsies will take you away, you are doing nothing."
