Austrian ski resorts have announced workers for the new ski season, where wages can reach up to 100 euros a day. Chefs, waiters, receptionists and roommates are the most sought-after professions that ski resorts lack. It is seasonal work, from November 15, ie from December 1 to Easter, depending on the employer and his needs, while the working time is six days a week, from 48 to 52 working hours.
Stipe Erzeg, owner of a restaurant in Hvar who has personally worked in the Austrian ski centers, says it is seasonal jobs, and accommodation and food are provided, adding that seasonal workers are provided with a range of benefits to be satisfied and constantly come back to work.
- Most Austrian employers provide their workers with half-price skiing or language courses. Specifically, the Association of Hotel and Catering Owners in Lech has given workers the privilege of having discounts on dinners, drinks, massages, cable cars with the presentation of the Lech Card. In all ways, people are stimulated to stay in work - says Erceg.
He explains that this type of work should in no way be compared to the departure of young people to Ireland or Germany.
Regarding salaries, Erceg says the auxiliary waiters have for example a salary of 1,500 to 1,700 euros. The hotel's department heads have salaries ranging from 1,800 to 2,000 a month.
With enough work experience in Austria you can obtain a pension in that country, no matter what the season.
