After 11 years of work, the New Testament translation into Romani was published, which was promoted in the Protestant Evangelical Church in Leskovac. The promotion was attended by Vera Mitic, Secretary General of the Bilijska društvo Srbija, priest Miroslav Jovanovic, representative of the Serbian Orthodox Church, representatives of the Islamic Community in Leskovac, as well as representatives of civic organizations. The translation of the New Testament into Romani was supported by the Biblical Society of Serbia, which is a member of a large world family made up of national biblical societies of 145 countries, covering about 200 countries around the world.

Sheriff Bakic, a priest at the Roma Community Protestant Evangelical Church, who translated the New Testament into Romani with Professor Tanet Kurtic and writer Ali Krasniqi, explained that the Gurbec-Arli dialect, which is most prevalent among Roma in southern Serbia, translation.
He explained that this New Testament with these dialects will be able to be used by Roma from regions such as Northern Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Slovenia.
Bakic announced the continuation of co-operation with the Biblical Society of Serbia and announced that a translation of the entire Old Testament into Romani was planned.
At the end of the promotion, the New Testament was distributed free of charge to guests and church members.
