The draft-law on prevention and protection against discrimination is on the agenda of today's session of the Assembly. The adoption of this law, which is a condition for the start of negotiations with the EU, requires a simple majority of MPs.
The law will enter into force after its publication in the Official Gazette, and with it all citizens who have evidence that unfounded injustices have occurred against them due to discrimination, will be able to initiate a civil dispute. The proof of the indications is provided to be the plaintiffs (discriminated citizens), and if the discrimination against them is proven, the fines for the perpetrators are up to 10,000 euros.
A fine in the amount of 400 to 10,000 euros in denar counter-value will be imposed for a misdemeanor on the legal entity for which it has been determined by a competent authority that it has discriminated against persons with disabilities if it does not provide access, infrastructure and access to information and communication technologies and systems. to public buildings and services in urban and rural areas. The legal entity shall be punished with the same punishment if it commits direct or indirect discrimination, or if it invites others to discriminate against someone, if the legal entity harasses or especially sexually if it harasses or segregates.
