On Sunday, September 7, 2024, Ajten Berlafa died in Gothenburg, Sweden at the age of 66 after a short illness.
Ajten Berlafa was a prominent intellectual, romologist, translator and activist in the struggle for women's rights. In the period from 2016 to 2020, she was also the Vice-President of the IRU. She gave great importance to her education. That's why she was Specialist Master in Dyslexia, Integration Mentor at Gothenburg University, Children's Nurse at Borås University, Kungahällagymnasium MY.
She will also be remembered as a cheerful and smiling character.
On that occasion, on September 13, IRU will organize a commemorative session on the death of Ajten Berlafa through online ZOOM video.
