Despite international conventions, domestic law, and the efforts of many NGOs, many girls continue to be trafficked and / or victims of forced and early marriages. Early child marriage has the characteristics of child trafficking and can therefore be a manifestation of child trafficking
On the occasion of World Children's Day, which is celebrated on November 20, the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina organized a web seminar on child marriage becoming trafficking.
According to the OSCE-ODIHR Report on Roma, Activism, Participation and Security of Young Sinti, “Human trafficking is not limited to sexual exploitation, and Roma and Sinti children and young people are also often forced to work, marry and beg.
Early marriages are often perceived as a tradition of the Roma minority, but on the other hand numerous studies have shown that early marriages occur in all cultures.
It is very important to devote more space to this extremely important topic that is present in BiH, but at the same time there are few registered and processed cases.
