Activists and experts warn that local authorities in many European countries where there is a large Roma population use the Covid pandemic to further harass the already very harassed Roma community, writes the portal Nova S.
With the arrival of the crown, the Roma in Bulgaria were sprayed with pesticides. In Slovakia, the military tested them only in Roma settlements from Covid. Reports of excessive force were reported throughout Central and Eastern Europe where police isolated quarantined Roma.
Activists, human rights activists and experts react that with the new Covid wave, this act can be repeated, and if there is any resistance, that form will be revenge.
To make matters worse, this kind of discrimination does not provoke a reaction in the rest of Europe, and the Roma do not want to comment much for fear of the consequences.
