The honorary Croatian consul in Barcelona is under investigation because Catalan police suspect a money laundering crime with a local group of criminals.
Consul Julie Barcelona of San Jose is suspected of receiving money from drug sales and then investing them in real estate and expensive cars, illegally hiding traces of illegally obtained assets from the suspected group.
Also being investigated are the honorary consuls of Albania and Mali Jose Maria Kalmet Iglesias and Jose Luci Lopez Hernandez who are suspected of the same offenses.
