For the 2014-2020 period, Croatia will receive a total of €8 billion in EU funds, out of which €5.8 billion will come from the European Social Fund (ESF) and the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). Of this amount, at least 24.6% will be spent on the ESF, with 20% of that going to the promotion of social inclusion and combating poverty. The latter could also finance Roma-related measures.
For the 2014 – 2020 funding period, the managing authority for the ESF OP efficient human resources is the Ministry of labour and pensions system.
The Council of Europe estimates that there are approximately 30-40,000 Roma living in Croatia (1% of the population).
