A six-year-old girl died after a two-meter wooden cross fell on her head in the town of Anse on Sunday, BFM Lyon has learned.
The tragedy happened during the Easter mass, in the abandoned area where Roma were settled. The little girl was playing in the tent, where there was a cross, while the adults were eating.
After being hit by the cross, she suffered serious injuries from which she later died in hospital.
The police opened an investigation into manslaughter.
