"We do not have a winter time, we do not have summer water. Always before the elections, politicians come and lie to us, after the elections are nowhere to be found, "one resident of the Bitola Bair told a citizen journalist who went to see if after five months something changed after the announcement of CIVIL that people in Biala for decades they live without a drop of water.
Another resident of this impoverished settlement adds that the mayor of the Bitola municipality, Natasha Petrovska, promised them to solve the problem of electricity and water.
"Natasha promised us that we would fulfill our desire to have water. But now elections will come a little more and I want to tell Natasha to consider and solve the problem, otherwise it will not send people to persuade us to vote, because, as they come, they will leave. In Bair no one will vote, "she says.
"Before the elections they come and lie to us that if we vote, they will solve the water problem and give us 500 denars to vote. Why should I give my voice for 500 denars? "Says one resident of Bair, who wants to remain anonymous.
Residents say they have blocked several times for the state and the municipality to hear their problems.
"In the school, we let the children go with lice, because we do not have water to swallow them," says a disturbed mother.
Five months ago, on 6 November 2018, a part of the CIVIL team, together with a team of citizen journalists, visited the Bair settlement and met with the mayor of Bitola, Natasha Petrovska and the director of JKP Vodovod, Goran Kozarov, who noted that they know about that problem they are trying to solve.
However, even five months after CIVIL reported on the problems faced by the Bairian (k) and, there was no reaction from the local and central authorities.
Are the Roma in Bair counted and seen only as a voting machine ?!
